Climbing Mount Meru

Experience Climbing The Fifth Highest Mountain in Africa

Mount Meru is considered as the second highest mountain in Tanzania and the fifth highest in Africa and is located in the centre of Arusha National Park. Mount Meru is one of the exceptional attractions in Arusha National park which is located just 40 kilometers from Kilimanjaro International Airport. At 4566 Meters above the sea level , Meru serves as an acclimatization refuge before climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

On the lower slopes of the mountain and inside the park, there is a good chance of spotting some wild animals. An armed ranger will accompany your party on the first stage to protect against any wildlife threats. The trail follows the north rim of the crater, along a dramatic ridgeline. Once at the summit, the views of Mount Kilimanjaro and down into Meru crater are unforgettable.
